Voices of Design is an initiative created by The Center for Architecture & Design, to demonstrate that Columbus is a place that values architecture and design. The hope of the board is that Voices of Design would represent the breadth and diversity of our community.
Voices of Design is an annual free publication distributed through 614NOW magazine featuring a jury-selected collection of projects, programs, and initiatives that amplify the impact of design in Columbus. I was invited to sit on the inaugural board of Voices of Design and help the board craft the brand's identity, create the entry materials, and design the final publication.
When designing the logo, I was inspired by the way that grassroots political campaign logos channel hope and engagement. I started by sketching out several design directions for the board to review.
The board asked me to proceed with a stacked version of the fourth option. They loved how the addition of the speech bubble made the logo feel like an active participant in the design.

To ensure that the Voices of Design branding felt congruent with The Center for Architecture and Design, I chose to include The Center's brand orange as one of the main brand colors for Voices. Laca was chosen as the brand font due to its friendly aesthetic and readability.

I designed collateral for two different audiences: a magazine insert available in both print and digital versions of (614) Magazine and an entry packet, website, and social media posts aimed at getting the architecture and design community involved.
